ok, i really just can not come up with a title this morning!

on friday, we went to emily's pinewood derby.  although she didn't win, we all had a great time!  hubs is already planning next year's car to get a better performance!   she absolutely loved that hubs was there!
and david was just happy that he was finally allowed to play with her car after the race!
after the kiddos went to bed, hubs and i vegged with some root beer floats.(we didn't neglect them, they got theirs after dinner!)

this weekend was pretty relaxing.  on saturday morning i did a little shopping with my sissy.  specifically i needed to get a bridal shower gift.  the bride and groom are registered at bed bath and beyond.  not a terrible place to spend a morning with your sissy.  the problem with BBB is that once you put certain items on the registry, they have to be ordered--i know because my sissy registered there for her shower.  i had something in mind for her, but was starting to get worried because page after page, item after item read "see associate"--which in BBB terms means- "we do not have this item, we must order it...oh, you're here 3 days before the shower?--you're screwed."  ok, so i was there a week before, but still...it sucks.  but alas, i did find the gift that i had my eye on--the set of cookie pans.  i also got her a little cookie spatula and pot holders.  they did not have the pot holders she asked for, again the dreaded "see associate" appeared...so...she's getting the other brand!   i am also making her an apron.  i like giving gifts with a theme!

hubs hung with the kiddos while i was out.  i even got to go out to lunch(thanks again, marie!)  i love hanging with my sissy.

i made another batch of ice cream.  this time, i made vanilla and swirled in the homemade magic shell AND this fabulous peanut butter sauce that i found @ taste of home.

1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
3 tablespoons butter
Pinch salt
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup evaporated milk

in a 1-1/2-qt. microwave-safe dish, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, butter and salt. Cover and microwave on high for 2-1/2 minutes or until mixture boils, stirring twice. Add peanut butter; stir until smooth. Stir in evaporated milk.

*i cut this in half and used half and half instead of the evap. milk--i didn't have any!  it was delicious!!!
i did not take a picture of this...we just couldn't wait!! haha

i also was inspired by BJ Mama to bust out my "one yard wonders" book, and make something for myself!
most of my little sewing tools are kept in one of our desk's cubbyholes.  however, david has now spotted them...a two year old with sewing pins and a rotary cutter= BAD NEWS!  so i made myself the sewing kit to keep all of my essentials together.

i hope everyone has a great week!!

  1. How about a title involving Happy? Because everything seems to mostly be about things that have made you and people in your family happy. Happy Comes Easy. Big Happy in Small Things. Happiness Found. Happy is Quiet. Happy Emily. Hmmmm...
